Wing Athletics is an Annual competition, between all of the Squadrons in Cumbria and Lancashire Wing. We compete in track and field events, such as long jump, 100m sprint and javelin, to see who will be crowned Overall Champions.
In preparation for the upcoming Bronze D of E expeditions, #team128 will be joining up with cadets from 2223 (Ulverston) Squadron to complete a day walk, where we put the Navigation theory into practice.
Bronze D of E Practise expedition, with one nights camping, for the cadets to get used to being self-sufficient for the Final expedition. This is there chance to get lost (safely!) and iron out any navigation issues!
We welcome all parents to join us for our AGM, starting at 8pm. Even if you don't have time to join the Civilian Committee, we invite all parents to attend to see what the Squadron is up to and ongoing actions for fundraising. We hope to see you there!
The Annual Wing Swimming competition here is once again, with the Squadrons of Cumbria and Lancashire wing competiting to be crowned Wing Swimming Champions.
Cumbrian Squadrons come together to parade for the Anniversary of the Battle of Britain, with a commemorative church service and then march past. Hot drinks and snacks provided by the Royal British Legion.
The Final expedition is usually the last thing to complete before the Bronze Award can be submitted for approval. This two day expedition, with an overnight camp, allows the cadets to demonstrate that they can be self-sufficient, carrying all that they need with them and navigating their route accurately.
