Wing Athletics 2017

It was a glorious day at the UCLAN Sports Stadium near Preston on the day #team128 competed at Wing Athletics 2017. With Squadron numbers low at this time, we couldn’t fill all of the teams, but Class B boys team was full.

Everyone put the effort in, and began scoring points as they competed in their events. A Bronze medal came for FS Jack Newsham in the high jump, which was a great achievement.

On final parade, the cadets were amazed to find out that they had come 2nd out of 33 in their Class, only one point from winning.

Flt Lt Katie Macpherson, Officer Commanding 128 said, ‘This result demonstrates that the cadets of 128 Squadron are truly dedicated to their Squadron and have fantastic enthusiasm to try their best. With this positive attitude, the cadets will continue to go from strength to strength and show the Wing that they can be competitive with the best Squadrons in the Wing.’

With a boost to Sports equipment, following the recent donation from the Armstrong Family Charitable Fund, next year the cadets will be able to fully train in all of the events and be even more prepared.
