128 (Barrow) Squadron were busy over the Battle of Britain weekend, supporting RAFA with their Wings Appeal Collection and also parading on the Sunday, with other members of the local community and cadet forces.
On the Saturday, a number of cadets were in Barrow-in-Furness town centre, collecting for the Wings Appeal and they did an amazing job in just 5 hours, raising £980 for the Wings Appeal. It really was a fantastic effort!
On the Sunday, the Squadron were joined by cadets from the other squadrons within the Sector, from 1127 (Kendal), 1264 (Windermere) and 2223 (Ulverston), as well as the other cadet forces in the town, for the parade and service at the Cenotaph in Barrow Park.
The cadets were fantastic and smartly turned out for this special weekend. OC 128, Flt Lt Katie Macpherson said, ‘Once again the Air Cadets of Barrow have done themselves proud, with a great effort for the Wings Appeal and a smart turnout for the Battle of Britain parade. RAFA are hugely supportive of the Squadron and this is our way of giving something back.’
